FAQ

General Guitar Questions
-How long to your guitars take to make from the time of my order?
Guitars typically take from 2-6 months depending on the number in the build line before you.

-Do you do endorsements? Can I have a free guitar?
We will do some occasional endorsements, but in most cases never give away a free guitar. Our endorsements will be determined by the mutual benefit they provide both the band or artist and Porter Guitars. Basically, we will give a certain discount of various amounts that is determined by the exposure of the band (ie: number of gigs, fan base, exposure that our guitars will receive). We are happy to consider all interest in endorsements, as long as you send us a band press kit to let us know more about you. If your band is interested in purchasing Porter Guitars for more than one player or two guitars for one person, I will apply a discount to the purchase.

-What about custom guitars or options?
We offer custom woods and options to any of our models. Prices are determined by what is available to us. We have a generic custom price list that usually covers most options, so you have an idea of what a custom guitar would cost. If you are looking for something different, we will treat that as a fully custom order, and wait times and cost will be more.

-Where Can I buy a Porter Guitar?
We currently sell direct to the customers. This is how we have chosen to start off. If you are ordering a custom guitar, you should be able to talk to the builder about what you are looking for. I love talking shop, woods, and options, to help you decide on the guitar that is just right for you. I plan on being able to talk to and update my customers on their guitars while they are being built and after they leave the shop. Future plans are to have a select number of dealers, but there is no timetable for that.

-What makes Porter Guitars different?
We make guitars for YOU. It's the options you want right down to woods, colors, inlay and hardware. With our three different models, there are currently over 3,000 different guitars that could be made. Why is this different than the guitar shop guitars? Usually you have maybe 5-7 color choices, and that is the extent of the uniqueness of your guitar. If you like an existing color, we will work with you to match it. We don't roll the guitars off an assembly line. Each one with treated with great care and respect, because I am putting my name on it.

-Do you have Dealers, how can I become one?
We do plan on having dealers in the future, although we will be very selective with who we choose and where they are located. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a dealer.

-What if I want a guitar that isn't like any of your models?
We are always open to creating new guitars. Our current models are meant to be a starting point for you to customize. Since all options are chosen by you, the guitar will be specifically yours and unlike any other. If you still want something that looks different than our current models, let us know what you are looking for and we will start the design process.
